Red is one of my favorite colors whether it’s in fashion or home decor, it is dramatic and dominant, it stimulates in large doses or adds a fantastic spark when used as an accent. Whether it’s next to a dark wood floor or furniture or in a stark white room, red lets you know that it will not be ignored! Red evokes passion and energy, but too much can come across as aggressive and angry, so be careful when incorporating this strong color into your interior decor. Here are some examples:

How about a red backsplash in your kitchen with a red accent wall? The red is striking and dramatic but not overbearing in this kitchen. It’ll add a level of excitement to this very modern style kitchen.

This dining table is setup with accenting colors. Gold chargers are accented by red glass candle holders and napkins along with a vase with red glass beads.
Red accents were used in the living room up against the dark furniture. Red throws and a red striped table runner provides the necessary color for this room.
Lastly, this formal dining room is gracefully designed in garnet (deep red). Visual interest is created with the coffer ceiling painted in garnet. The floor to ceiling printed draperies leads your eye upwards to appreciate the ceiling. This room has just the right number of accents to provide that “wow” factor.
